About the photographer
Selma Cankat
I was born in 1959 and graduated from TED Ankara Koleji
and Hacettepe University’s Department of Econometrics.
My professional life started with an internship at Bankers Trust
Company in Frankfurt. Then, I worked at Citibank between 1984 and 1999,
at BNPÂAkÂDresdner Bank Inc. between 1999 and 2005, and at Fiba Group
(Credit Europe Bank N.V. and Fibabanka) between 2005 and 2018.
I retired in 2018.
I had an interest in photography in high school, and it was rekindled in
2015. A year later, I participated in the BenIstanbul project.
I see photography as an interesting pursuit and I am happy to work on
trips and projects with this group led by Niko Guido.
